| FASTENERS | ||
Flag Outlet sells stainless steel
fasteners, nuts, bolts, washers, screws, threaded rod, anchors, u-bolts
and mounting clamps for all your installation needs. Anchor holes should be free of dust and debris. Extra care should be taken to clean hole when using epoxy. Use compressed air or a drinking straw to remove the dust. |
Sleeve, wedge anchors
are expansion mechanisms that compress against the base material, tightening
a nut will actuate these mechanisms. Installation:
finger tighten nut or bolt then tighten 4-5 turns more. If the concrete is 8" thick, the hole drilled should be no longer than 7". The depth of the hole should be at least ½" deeper than the embedment depth of the anchor. When the applied load exceeds the pre-load on the anchor, it will reset. Some movement will occur which will provide a visual indication that there may be a potential problem. |
Epoxy anchors have
higher load capacities than mechanical expansion anchors (ex: sleeve,
wedge anchor). Epoxy is a fast curing adhesive, which comes in two parts. Acrylic 100 comes in a 7.9 fluid ounce size, dispensing gun and specially designed mixing nozzle. The cartridge can be re-sealed and used with a new nozzle later. The setting time is 4 minutes @ 70 degrees, curing time is 1 hour. This may be used in concrete, stone, brick, masonry and hollow block, hollow blocks requires the use of a screen tube. Epoxy Hammer Capsule is inserted in the hole and threaded rod breaks the capsule. Curing time is 1 hour @ 70 degrees. |
Roof Mount Bracket: use No. 10 stainless steel screw 2" long, most flat roof buildings have 8" wide piece of wood under the sheet metal that goes around the perimeter of the building, this is where the bracket is screwed into. Use silicon or any sealer on screw to seal joint. |
Sleeve Anchors are best used with heavy duty wall mount brackets and outrigger brackets. This anchor resists vibration and are replaceable. For use in concrete, block, brick and stone. | Thru-wall Bolts offer the most secure installation, threaded rod, washers & nuts. |
